Describing Matter - Chemical and Physical Properties and Changes
In Class we did,
  • Opener (Chem vs Physical & First Day questionaire)
  • Filling out the "Getting to know you..." Sheet (On desk, Unit A papers, all current unit materials organized in your notebook at all times)
  • Name Tent
  • LAD A1 − Chem or Physical
    • Association Statements
    • Observational evidence of chemical change
Outside of class you should, (All documents are located on the appropriate Unit's documents page.)

  • Fill out the LAD Safety contract, get it signed, and return it to class by Thurs (or Tues if you must)
  • Read the LAD Safety Poster guidelines so we can discuss in class on Thurs. Look up your assigned Rule # on the back of the Lab Safety Contract and start planning your poster. The poster is due on Wed Sept 6
  • Get a three ring binder and organize it. Use this link for ideas on how you might organize your notebook. If you need a binder (or dividers), there are plenty available in class, just come by and ask.
  • There is no excuse for not getting what you need from my website. Email Biggs (email at the bottom of the website) if you are having difficulty finding something. Spend some time navigating to see what is here. Go to the Course information link and look around for useful information.

  • Get going on your CALM
    • Topics 1 due Wed 9/6
    • Topic 2 Sect 1 due Wed 9/6 (sect 2 is optional)
    • Topic 2 Sect 3 due Mon 9/10 (sect 4 is optional)
