As the game began the Devils were in high spirits as they were celebrating their five seniors; Jenna Tymkowiche, Bridget Szawlowski, Aline Sawula, Holly Spicer, and Jenny Long. In the first couple minutes of the game the Devils proved that they were coming out strong and expected their hard work to pay off. By scoring the first goals, Northampton set the tone for the entire game. Off the first draw and a battle for the ball, Northamptons Bridget Keefe came out of the battle strong to make the connection with Julia Sullivan to score the first goal of the game. Northampton then followed with five more goals. Sammy Sarvet, Bridget Keefe, Erin King, Bridget Szawlowski and Casey Ferriter were each able to add a goal to the scoreboard for Northampton.

As the first half was winding down and it was clear that the Devils were on top, the Hurricanes stepped it up to put themselves on the scoreboard late into the first half. Both goals were scored by Sheighley Knightly. The Devils went into half time feeling proud of their hard work but knowing they must continue to work hard if they want to hold on to the victory because the Hurricanes were bound to come out stronger than ever in the second half.

When the second half started the Hurricanes immediately proved that they were still in the game by scoring another two goals within moments of each other. Northampton knew they had started to slow down but picked it back up and tackled back hard to answer with three goals of their own. As the final moments were dwindling away, the Hurricanes made a last ditch attempt to catch the Devils but it wasn't enough as the Devils were able to answer their last goal and make the final score 10-5.
