If you don't already know it, it's time for you to learn the NHS Fight Song. You can find the words below or in your school planner in the back of the school handbook section. If you dont know the tune, it is the same as "Its a Grand Old Flag" which you can hear by clicking here.

NHS Fight Song

We're a grand ole team
We're the best ever seen
And the colors we fight for are grand.
We're the emblem of,
The school we love,
Our school is the best in the land.
Every heart beats true
For the gold and the blue
And may victory always be ours
Our grand high school must never lose
So we'll cheer on to victory.

Emily was playing with "Gutrid" (formally known as Gertrude Jr.) one morning and she was dressing her in the goose's patriotic outfit, so we decided to get on line and learn some patriotic songs. As it turns out, Dixie was Emily's favorite. The tune is so catchy that it made me think that with differnt words, we could sing it on the bus. So in the space below, you will find the original words to Dixie and my rewritten words to Devil Land.

Click here to go to a website to learn the tune and history behind the song Dixie. You may be surprised to learn that it was actually written by a Northerner, and later adopted by the south as a theme song.

Devil Land

Oh, I'm glad I was born in old Northampton,
Good teams there are not forgotten,
Play-ay hard, play-ay hard, play-ay hard Devil Land.
In Devil Land, where I was born in,
early on one frosty mornin',
Play-ay hard, play-ay hard, play-ay hard Devil Land.

I'm glad I am a Devil, Hooray! Hooray!
In Devil Land I'll take my stand
to live and die a Devil.
Play-ay hard, play-ay hard, play-ay hard as a Blue Devil.
Play-ay hard, play-ay hard, play-ay hard as aaaaaaaa Blue Devil.

The Devil Bunch

submitted by Alice Lee - sung to the Brady Bunch song.
Click here to here the tune.

Here's the story,
of a team of ladies,
who were playing lacrosse for NHS.
All of them wore blue and gold,
those were the colors,
it scared the other girls.

Here's the story,
of two awesome coaches,
who were busy with school work of their own.
They were two friends, coaching here together,
but they were not alone.

Til the one day when the ladies met the coaches,
and they knew they was much more than a hunch,
that this group,
must somehow form a family.
That's the way we all became the Devil Bunch.
The Devil Bunch-The devil bunch.
That's the way that we became the Devil Bunch.

Devil Dandy

submitted by Alice Lee - sung to Yankee Doodle
Click here to here the tune.

Hamp Blue Devils went to town,
ready for victory,
took their sticks off from the bus
and played hard for the glory.

Hamp Blue Devils keep it up
Hamp Blue Devils dandy
Mind the ground balls and the goals
and with your sticks be handy.
